Description

Périgord Blanc, an estate based around a cHhâteau and its outbuildings, comprising an exceptional garden in the art of topiary on 18 hectares enclosed by a fence, part of which is undergrowth, and 11 hectares devoted to magnificent flowerbeds open to the public: 80,000 boxwoods, 1,600 rosebushes, 1,300 hornbeams, 150 cypresses, a truffle field of 72 holm-oaks and some fifty different motifs from the drawings made by the owner.
These gardens are the culmination of a lifetime of dedication by the owner and have recently been opened to the public. There are many species to be found along a path of more than 2 km: box hedges, rose gardens and various patterns.
In the middle of this complex is the château, built in 1830, whose ground floor has been refurbished to allow private events for up to 150 people to be held inside.
The dwelling is on 3 levels for a total of 450 m² (4,967 sq ft), the ground floor being dedicated to the reception activity (weddings, festivals, conferences, seminars, etc.), with a surface area of 175 m² (1,767 sq ft) allocated for this purpose, the whole divided between a 40 m² (430 sq ft) entrance hall, 3 lounges of approx. 40 to 50 m² (430 to 430 sq ft), a semi-professional equipped kitchen and a toilet area.
The first floor is spacious with a central corridor leading to the 7 bedrooms with their shower rooms on either side, which would need to be refurbished and brought up to standard. The roofs were redone in 2010.
The 210 m² (2,153 sq ft) outbuildings have been completely renovated and are used to receive the public who come to visit the gardens. A 90 m² shop with a reception area offers various items for sale. Finally, a 120 m² (1,292 sq ft) flat adjoins the property and can be used as a caretaker’s quarters.
A vast new 400 m² shed/workshop houses all the equipment necessary for the maintenance of the gardens.
The watering system is automated from 18 nozzles connected to tanks and a 4,500 m3 pond fed by a borehole,
Finally, there is a 4.000 m² car park which can accommodate up to 250 vehicles.
